This is a thorn in my side for as long as I can remember. There is ALWAYS something on my wish list... so to try to get a handle on it, I started writing about it. Maybe it will help someone else too.

How To Be Content With What You Have

And be sure to sign my guest book and if you have a few words of wisdom, feel free to add them. I can use all the help I can get. ;)

I think it's about moderation, that balance between having what you want and wanting what you have. It's like a kid at Christmas, where by the time they're opening the umpti-millionth present, they're crabby and demanding and feeling entitled. If you stop them at that magical "enough" point, they remain in a grateful and joyful place.

It's okay to want things, and gods know I do, too, but one aphorism that's helpful to me in lots of areas--"medicinal shopping," dieting, work--is this: Never trade what you really want for what you want right now.

Wise words and stopping at that magical point is going to be my resolution this year. I think that I've gone back to being that crabby kid lol...

There is also ALWAYS something on my wish list but it doesn't mean I'm not content with what I have. I think actually that it is good to want something because wanting something is part of "growing". If you have no goals or wishes in life then what purpose does your life have?

Anyway, I belive it is your birthday today (livejournal told me) ? Forgive me if I'm wrong. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I really do hope it is a GOOD one for you, and may there be MANY, MANY more GOOD ONES heading your way, ((((DEAR LADY)))))!

Take care,

Juliette
