shopping

I'm over whatever caused me to feel so horrid last night and I'm ready to hit the mall today. The weather seems to be improving and I'm just itching to go looking at backyard furniture. I went for a walk in the field yesterday (behind all of our neighbor's houses) and we really need to get a move on. There's some major work being done and ours looks pretty bare.

30th-Apr-2008 09:49 pm - Any Thoughts for Mother's Day
shopping
Just thought that I would get you ladies thinking about  Mother's Day. Have you decided what you want if you are a Mom or what you are going to get your Mom this year?? I thought about asking for a magazine subscription, but I don't know if we will be here for entire year, so I'm going to look for something else... the magazine rack would look nice in my office, the bubble bath stuff I can always use more of... the foot spa I got for Christmas a couple of years ago. My own Mom... now that's going to be tough. She is in a tiny little apartment now so I'm going to have to go with something that won't take up any space. What do you get a woman who has everything and no space for something new?? I still have a couple of weeks right??

*I also have a birthday coming up so I get two prezzies instead of just one. I just love May ;)

Greetings Everyone :)
We are in the process of staging our house for sale and I've been doing a ton of shopping lately. I don't think my own mother will recognize the house when she comes to visit. I have come to the conclusion that it's the little things that create the ambiance for a home. And  the shopping part is just soooo much fun ;)

1st-Mar-2008 11:01 am - Clinique Super Balm
shopping

Just in case you haven't tried it... here's a heads up on this particular lip balm... Clinique somehow made it feel buttery soft! Can't say that about many lipbalms today. And here is a little help in the colors too. I have the weirdest skin color, hair color combination. I have nearly black hair but I have yellow skintones... they should have been pink and it would have saved me a ton of time and money. But the raspberry shade works amazingly well for me... even better than the apricot and mango. And if your department store is having a Gift With Purchase... grab a few shades then so that you get all the extra goodies for free.

Seeing that it's February 29th, I was just wondering if anything odd has happened to you today? Maybe not odd, but out of the ordinary maybe?? Me... I developed a bitch of a headache and Friday's are my mall day. I actually turned my daughter's offer to go shopping... down. So, anything on your end??

Tonight's Tip...

Did you know that Mongolia produces some of the best cashmere in the world!! So the next time you are thinking about a new sweater, be sure to read the label. You will want to know the percentage of cashmere the sweater contains as well as its origin.

shopping

I am soooo sick of winter. I just can't wait to look out the window to see grass again, maybe a few birds sitting on the fence and perhaps a few butterflies flitting around. Butterflies do flit don't they?? Available Here Now I only wish that I could deliver June as easily. ;)
15th-Feb-2008 12:27 pm - Jessica Alba Goes Baby Stuff Shopping
shopping

*Does anyone remember the first thing they bought when they wanted to set up their nursery? I think things have really changed since I was thinking all things baby. We had only been married 2 years and were living in a one bedroom apartment. Really didn't have a lot of space to put all the gorgeous items that are available now.

I wonder what Jessica spent on her shopping afternoon?? And I hear that she is expecting in June??She barely looks pregnant. That certainly wasn't my case?

*Just popped into my mind... I bought these yellow bumper pads to go around the crib. It seems soooo long ago now. My babies aren't babies any longer! So, what do you remember buying??

15th-Feb-2008 11:44 am - Spotting a Fake
shopping

There are two ways of looking at fashion. There are the fakes and then there are the knock-offs. The fake is trying to make you think that you are buying the real thing, which would tick me off and will cost you big time. . A knock-off is an item that simply looks like the original but is not infringing on copyright laws. And it’s a great way to add a little style to your outfit without breaking the bank. What’s your thoughts on the topic?? Would you buy a knock off or are you willing to pay for the real thing?

14th-Feb-2008 12:13 pm - What to wear to the mall
shopping

I used to hate to try things on because first of all the change rooms are too small to turn around in and secondly, quite often you have to leave the change room to see what you look like. Sometimes that works, but sometimes it REALLY DOESN'T.  So, here's my rule of thumb if I plan to try clothes on.

1. wear a top that you can quickly pull over your head.
2. a skirt that you can slip off over your hips saves you time too. No buttons and no zippers.
3. Take someone with you who will tell you the truth. My daughter is great for that. If she doesn't like something, she is quick to tell me.
4. If you are buying pants, take the shoes with you that you intend to wear so that you can check the length. But don't wear the shoes... toss them into a bag and try them on in the change room. For shopping... flats are the only way to go.

I have about a zillion tricks, but these are the only ones that are coming to mind at the moment. But as they occur to me, I will post them. If you have any tricks to share, please feel free. You can't have too many!
